A new era of Force Majeure

BREAKIN’CONVENTION

Nick headed to London to attend the worlds largest hip hop dance theatre festival

In April 2026, thanks to the support of Creative Australia, Nick was able to undertake a cultural exchange and artist development trip to Breakin’ Convention at Sadler’s Wells in London.

Nick invited street dancer Dechen Gendun as part of ongoing mentorship. They were able to attend performances, rehearsals and workshops, while also reconnecting with international artists including Lea Difstyle from LADY ROCKS Crew (collaborator in his work Two Crews, 2020), Parisian B*Girl and mentor, Anne Nguyen, and Jonzi D, Artistic Director of Breakin’ Convention.

Triangular Rhythms [In development]

In 2026, Force Majeure in association with Performing Lines, will further develop Nick’s intercultural dance work.

Triangular Rhythms is a hip hop project uniting Breakers from Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Australia for collaborative creative development and exchange, led by choreographer Nick Power and grounded in a partnership with Wan Smolbag Theatre (Port Vila).
