A grant writing workshop for the street dancing community

GET THAT CASH is an introductory online session for street dancers who are interested in applying for funding to support their practice or projects. 

Hosted by Nick Power, B*Boy, Choreographer, and Artistic Director of Force Majeure, learn how to put forward a strong artistic argument that appeals to funding bodies and how to bolster your application with impactful support material and budgets.  

This workshop will cover topics that will assist you in applying for council grants, artist residencies, mentorships, and state and federal funding.

  • How to write a suitable personal bio for grant applications

  • Addressing the selection criteria and illustrating impact of your project  

  • Industry tips to make sure your application stands out

  • Common errors that impact your application

  • The content covered will be tailored to street dancers who are interested in applying for grants.  However other contemporary performers and dancers who collaborate with street dancers will likely find the content relevant and useful. All artists are welcome. 

  • This workshop is applicable to projects such as: developing a new show, community projects, workshops, residencies, professional development and more. 

  • Rather than focus on specific grants and their requirements, this introductory session will cover topics that generally apply for all grants, like how to position your unique artistry among a landscape of other performers, and how to appeal to funding bodies to ensure your application stands out. These skills will apply to all kinds of applications.
