Can I audition?
Force Majeure does not hold open auditions. However, from time to time we do conduct workshops. If you would like to be notified directly when these workshops are scheduled, please sign up to our mailing list.
How is Force Majeure funded?
Force Majeure is a triennially funded company, receiving grants from both the Australia Council for the Arts and Arts NSW. The company also generates income from performance fees, co-production fees and philanthropic donations.
What is the company’s administrative structure?
The current administrative structure consists of an Artistic Director and Producer who are assisted by a Business Manager and Marketing Manager. The Artistic Director and Producer report to the Board of Directors. Freelance employees are engaged for each project – including the creative team, performers, production and stage management etc.
Can I watch/photograph rehearsals or workshops?
Unfortunately, the company is not able to open its rehearsals or workshops to anyone that isn’t involved in the production. The main reason for this has to do with the way the company works; in order to create an atmosphere of true experimentation and risk, the creators (including the performers) need to feel free from outside observation and judgement.
Can I obtain a copy of any of Force Majeure’s works on DVD?
At present this is only available to institutions and libraries on request.
Does Force Majeure work with actors or dancers, or both?
The company generally works with both trained dancers and actors, depending on the needs of the given project.
Does the company run dance classes or workshops?
Force Majeure doesn’t run open dance classes. The company does, on occasion, run workshops. If you would like to be notified directly when these workshops are scheduled, please sign up to our mailing list.
