Food
A co-production with Belvoir

Belvoir, Sydney
One of them left, and one of them didn’t.
One chose chaos, the other control.
One chose sex, and the other one – food.
Food is the story of two sisters, Elma and Nancy. Set in a take away food shop, along a highway, north of a big country town. The sisters battle it out, trying to make sense of their shared history. Now adults, can they allow each other to be something else?
For the first time Kate Champion, Force Majeure’s Artistic Director, will realise a work that begins its life as a script. Steve Rodgers (Rays Tempest, Savage River) has written Food with a strong physicality in mind that interrogates his characters’ lives through the integration of text, music, image and dance to create a corporeal, poetic theatre that seeks the intimacy of the Downstairs Theatre at Belvoir.
